Job Summary:
The Payroll Practitioner will manage payroll and timekeeping tasks for a large number of employees. You’ll help make sure pay is accurate and on time, and work with different teams to improve payroll processes.
Main Duties:

Process employee timekeeping and payroll

Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions
-
Handle off-cycle and final payments
-
Review how job changes affect payroll
-
Keep accurate payroll records and reports
-
Support wage garnishment processing
-
Audit and update timekeeping profiles

Analyze attendance and overtime trends

Provide helpful customer service to employees
-
Assist with payroll projects to improve efficiency
Qualifications:
You must have at least 2 years of experience managing payroll for 700+ employees, including 1 year in a hospital setting. You can qualify with:

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar + 2 years of required payroll experience

Option 2: High school diploma + 6 years of related work, including 2 years as described above

Option 3: Equivalent mix of education and experience (but must include the 2 years mentioned above)
Preferred Skills:
-
5+ years payroll experience

Strong attention to detail and data analysis skills

Good communication and teamwork
-
Comfortable with Microsoft Office and payroll systems

Experience with PeopleSoft 9.2, IBM Mainframe, and working in a union environment
