Job Title: Community Associate – Office of Food and Nutrition Services (OFNS)
Location: New York City Public Schools (NYCPS)
Salary: $51,094 – $73,941
Reports to: Food Safety Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Community Associate will support food and nutrition programs across NYC Public Schools. This includes working with staff, city agencies, and community groups to improve school meals, promote healthy eating, and support key citywide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help run programs that feed over 860,000 NYC students

• Support Mayor and Chancellor-led food initiatives

• Work with community groups to improve health and meal participation

• Assist in launching new food service programs

• Collect feedback through surveys and help evaluate programs

• Train staff and improve communication between city agencies and communities

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent plus at least 5 years of community-related work

  • (3 years minimum, plus 2 additional years of similar experience)

  • Or equivalent education/experience combination

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Experience in public service or food programs is a plus
