Pay Range: $67,900 – $105,300 annually

Role Overview:

As a Training and QA Specialist within the Research Animal Resource Center’s Education and Quality Assurance department, you will:

  • Promote and maintain a culture of compliance with institutional policies related to animal care and hazardous materials.

  • Conduct quality assurance inspections of animal care programs and research labs.

  • Report non-compliance issues to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and help resolve them.

  • Collaborate with RARC departments and research teams to communicate policies, develop SOPs, and provide training.

  • Deliver hands-on training in rodent handling and surgical procedures, assessing technical skills.

  • Manage implementation of the hazardous material program.


Key Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years of experience in research support, compliance, or training related to animal models.

  • Veterinary Technician education, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Certification at AALAS Laboratory Animal Technologist (LAT) level required.

  • Proven expertise in rodent technical procedures and surgical techniques.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with IACUC administration (preferred but not required).

  • Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.

  • Familiarity with hazardous agent safety protocols (preferred).
