Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Instrument Specialist Analyst to manage and optimize the inventory of capital equipment across our facilities. This individual will oversee equipment repairs, coordinate loaner equipment, track key performance indicators (KPIs), manage the movement of equipment between locations, work with vendors to ensure contract compliance, and support cost-saving initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a collaborative mindset to drive efficiency and maximize equipment utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inventory Management:
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all capital equipment across multiple facilities.
• Track equipment usage, depreciation, and lifecycle status to inform procurement and replacement decisions.
• Coordinate the relocation of equipment between sites to optimize usage and meet operational needs.
• Repair and Maintenance Oversight:
• Manage repair processes for capital equipment, ensuring timely service to minimize downtime.
• Track equipment service histories and performance metrics to identify patterns and inform maintenance strategies.
• Ensure loaner equipment is available and properly managed during repair periods.
• Vendor and Contract Management:
• Collaborate with vendors to ensure adherence to contract terms and service level agreements.
• Assist in negotiating service agreements, repair costs, and warranties to achieve cost savings.
• Support the development and management of vendor contracts for capital equipment services.
• KPI Tracking and Reporting:
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment utilization, downtime, repair costs, and service efficiency.
• Generate regular reports to provide insights into equipment performance and cost trends.
• Process Improvement and Compliance:
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory management and repair processes.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with operations, finance, procurement, and clinical teams to align capital equipment strategies with organizational goals.
• Assist with capital planning and budgeting by providing data-driven recommendations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in capital equipment management, inventory control, or a related role.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and data analysis tools.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience working with vendors and contracts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications:
• CRCST Certification
• Experience in healthcare (Sterile processing), medical equipment management, or a related industry.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance related to capital equipment.
Work Environment:
• 50% Office-based, 50% travel to facilities for on-site equipment audits, evaluations, and vendor meetings.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
This role is paid on an annual basis ranging from $58,000 – $62,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
