About the Role:
Tishman Speyer is seeking a Helper to support daily engineering operations at one of its premier properties in New York. This entry-level building operations role is ideal for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and interest in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance. Working under the guidance of Operating Engineers, you’ll play a hands-on role in maintaining world-class real estate environments for tenants and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:

Support building operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.

Perform routine maintenance and assist in diagnosing equipment issues.

Monitor and adjust building equipment (e.g., chillers, pumps, heaters, air systems).

Respond to tenant requests and service calls with professionalism and urgency.

Maintain work areas, equipment rooms, and tools in clean and safe condition.

Comply with OSHA safety standards and use proper PPE at all times.

Work across interior/exterior environments, including roofs, mechanical rooms, and confined spaces.

Document work and follow assignments accurately and efficiently.
Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred

Basic mechanical aptitude and strong interest in building systems

Willingness to learn, take direction, and work safely

Physical ability to walk, lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders/heights, and perform manual tasks

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Physical Requirements:

Ability to work on ladders (up to 16 ft), rooftops, and in confined spaces

Able to lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs unassisted

Comfortable working in varied indoor/outdoor conditions

Wear required safety equipment including harnesses, gloves, masks, and fall protection
