Job Description: Admissions Counselor – University of Alaska Anchorage

What You’ll Do:

  • Promote UAA to prospective students, families, and community groups through presentations, events, and outreach

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students in an assigned recruitment territory from inquiry to enrollment

  • Travel in- and out-of-state for recruitment (including remote Alaska), manage travel logistics and expenses

  • Deliver excellent customer service in person, via phone, and by email in the Enrollment Services lobby

  • Support admissions operations and assist with special projects and campus initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum two years’ experience in admissions, higher education, or customer service roles

  • Strong communication skills and public speaking experience

  • Ability to connect with diverse student populations, including first-generation and non-traditional students

  • Comfortable working with data, reporting tools, and CRM systems (Salesforce experience a plus)

  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and problem-solving skills

  • Willingness to work evenings/weekends and travel regularly

  • Unrestricted Alaska driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
